psychology-led content + brand strategy

content designed to shape perception, not just capture attention

Mental Media was founded on the belief that visual direction and strategic thinking should work hand in hand. With a background in psychology and an eye for aesthetics, content is approached as more than something that simply captures attention. It’s designed to shape perception and guide how a brand is experienced.

Mackenzie Scott

THE FOUNDER

Based in New Jersey, nestled between New York City and Philadelphia, Mackenzie grew up naturally creating—from writing and printing her own books to being drawn to the camera lens, instinctively understanding storytelling and finding joy in making. She wouldn't know it yet, but those early years set the tone for everything that was yet to come.

Fast forward to college, where I focused on psychology with initial aspirations of becoming a therapist. But during my studies, something clicked. The principles I was learning sparked a new vision, showing me that I could still help people thrive through what I studied, just in a different way—one that allowed me to channel both my creative instincts and my understanding of human behavior.

Mental Media was built from recognizing that founders often know exactly what they want their brand to feel like, but struggle to translate that vision into content that truly connects and converts. Consumer behavior, decision-making patterns, and the science behind what makes someone pause mid-scroll aren’t just concepts, they’re the missing layer most overlook.

At Mental Media, beauty and strategy don’t exist separately. They work together to shape how a brand is perceived. Every project is approached with both aesthetic intention and strategic direction, and every piece is designed to influence how audiences connect with, understand, and remember a brand over time.

Today, Mental Media operates in a more focused capacity as I step into a full-time role in marketing, while continuing to partner with brands on select, high-impact projects. The work is rooted in strategy, guided by psychology, and executed with intention—bringing the same level of depth, care, and attention that has defined Mental Media from the beginning.
